The group operates by engaging the services of a guide who with the group leader decides on a list of walks for the coming year, each autumn.
A risk assessment is carried out prior to each walk by our guide. Details are then distributed to each group member with a request to let him know if they will be attending the walk that month. The group is restricted to 20 people on any one walk. Members either drive directly to the notified start point or arrange lifts between themselves.
The guide will grade each walk between easy, medium or hard. Some of the walks will be across open moorland but others may well be mainly on pathways. All should be capable of being walked by anyone who is mobile and reasonably fit.
